Dunque, sappiamo qualcosa di questo gruppo della scena glam/sleaze svedese grazie a un'intervista e ad una recensione su queste stesse pagine. Hanno aperto il sorprendente live del 23 con un intro non da poco per conquistare l'attenzione dopo lo show dei Danger. La prima canzone è "Strictly Business" e questo è il momento "ufficiale"in cui inizia l'esibizione, anche se in realtà il vero inizio è il secondo pezzo: "Sleazy Enterteinement", che il pubblico sembra gradire e apprezzare particolarmente. Questa band ha un killer look e tanta voglia di spaccare il culo! I ragazzi riescono a fondere nel modo giusto i pezzi più recenti con quelli più datati e sono in grado di catturare l'attenzione (non solo quella delle ragazze n.d.r.). Segue "Cyanide Woman". È una canzone alla Mötley Crüe che suona meglio live che demo, e credo di poter dire lo stesso anche di "Follow Your Heart"; comunque entrambe sono abbastanza piatte. Lo show ritorna finalmente sui giusti binari con "Bad Boy Gigolo" e lo spettacolo si riaccende l tutto con "Graduation In Rock n' Roll" e "Don't Stop Rocking" (una delle prime canzoni, la background voice è meglio dal vivo). L'Oscar "per il Momento Migliore della Serata" va al tipo ubriaco che dal nulla urla: "vogliamo di più!". L'unico a lasciare qualche perplessità è il cantante. La voce non è nella forma migliore e cerca di catturare l'attenzione in un modo un po' ridicolo, alla Vince Neil dei giorni nostri che cerca di fare il 20enne. Dovrebbe semplicemente essere un po' meno "finto". Il gruppo comunque lascerà presto la Svezia per due date in Europa (Finlandia e Inghilterra) e alcune negli Stati Uniti (tra cui una al Whiskey a Go Go). I Damaged Dolls faranno anche da band di supporto agli Hanoi Rocks qui a Goteborg : penso che sia un grande onore,visto che molti vorrebbero essere al loro posto. Le caratteristiche della grande rock band ci sono tutte; con un pizzico di modestia questo gruppo può fare strada. Quindi Damaged Dolls, forza! Spodi vedervi presto anche in Italia!
 

ENGLISH VERSION

So, we know already a little about this underground band from the Swedish sleaze/glam rock scene thank to an interview and a review. I had the pleasure to see them live on Wednesday 23rd and I was pleasantly surprised. They started with an intro, which was quite useful to catch the attention of the audience after the Danger’s show. The first song is “Strictly Business” and that is the moment in which the show started “officially” but the real beginning was with the second one “Sleazy Enterteinement”, one of the best according to me, and also the audience seemed to appreciate it more. This band has a great look and the will to kick the world’s ass. They mix in a good way new songs and “old songs” and they are able to attract the attention (not only the girls’ one w.q.). “Cyanide Woman” follows. A Mötley Crüe -kind song which is surely better live than on record and I can say the same for “Follow Your Heart”, but both of them are quite “flat”. The show goes back to its original track with “Bad Boy Gigolo” which re-captured my attention and re-activated the show till the end with “Graduation in Rock n’ Roll” and “Don’t Stop Rocking” (one of the earliest, best background voice live). The Oscar for the Best Moment of the Night has to be given to the drunk guy screaming “We want more!”. The only negative thing to point out is the singer. His voice was not in its best shape and he tries to catch the attention with this ridiculous way of acting which reminds me a little of an old Vince Neil trying to act as when he was 20. Exaggerated in moving. I think he would have just to be less “fake”. The band is going to leave Sweden for 2 gigs in Europe (England and Finland) and some in the U.S.A. (Whiskey a Go Go too). They will also support Hardcore Superstar here in Gothenburg and I think this is a great honour anyway, cause there are many bands who would be at their place. I think they have the chance to go somewhere but they need just a little dose of modesty, cause they have all the required characteristics to be a great famous band. So come on Damaged Dolls, hope to see you soon in Italy too!
